Mnemonic Devices explores the notion of place as a vessel. The home has become an important facet of her work, where it acts as a mnemonic device that carries the traditions, memories, and experiences of the people living within it. This notion is extended to other places that have the potential to absorb such qualities, for example, a beloved home away from home or a site or place often travelled or frequented. McKindsey works with archives, comprised of photographs, personal artifacts, traditions, stories and memories the artist has heard told through time.
